Week 6- Editing

This is what Theresa's screen looked like while editing. While Peter and I helped out, Theresa editing the main parts and added music.

These are different photos taken from all of us editing different parts of the movie opener. We all discussed what order the clips should go in and made sure they were all the same length.

We placed titles at the end of the movie opener to create a more suspenseful and dramatic atmosphere. We titled our opener "The Next Level," as it seemed fitting for highschool athletes who are signing onto be a part of the collegaint level. The best place for the title seemed to be in the center.

Some of the different video effects used were fade away, cross-dissolve, and cross blur.  Fadeaway was used most of the time because it provided a seamless transition into the next clip.

During the editing process, the decision was made to use music over dialogue as it seemed more fitting for the setting of the opener. While the music has not yet been decided on, it will be discussed this week.

There were little problems we came across while editing. Using a movie editor app that we were all familiar with helped to make the process much less stressful, as we all knew what we were doing. The only problem we faced was finding all the clips after they were loaded onto Theresa's computer. However, this was easily solved by creating a folder for all the clips so they were all in one place.

It took Theresa about a week to edit the main clips, and after this, she began to consult with Peter and me about what order the clips should go in and had us look over them to make sure they all fit together mostly seamlessly.

Theresa, Peter, and I all worked together to make sure we got all of our filming and most of our editing done this week. While I was more in charge during filming the clips, Theresa and Peter took over more of the editing roles. We all worked together to make sure the opener went as smoothly as possible.

Although there were some leftover clips, we were relieved to see this as it gave us more options to choose from while editing. We thought it would be better to have more clips needed than less as this would require another filming day.
